Today Is Your Last Day to Early Vote
Early voting closes today, Friday June 12. If you've been meaning to go, today is it.
Election Day is Tuesday, June 16. Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM. Both options count the same, but if today's schedule works better than Tuesday's, don't put it off.
A quick reminder: this runoff has something on it for nearly every registered Georgia voter, regardless of party. Governor, U.S. Senate, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and more. Check your ballot before you decide it doesn't apply to you.
One more heads-up: your polling location may have changed since the May primary. Confirm before you go. Find your Henry County polling location here.
Henry County Just Got $1 Million From the State
If you've ever been stuck trying to get from GA-81 over to GA-42 or GA-155, this one's for you.
Gov. Kemp and the State Road and Tollway Authority approved $26 million in transportation grants across Georgia this week. Henry County landed $1 million of it for the Airline Road Expansion project. A new one-mile, two-lane road will connect GA-81 at Old Jackson Road to Airline Road, giving drivers an alternate route through one of the county's busier corridors.
It's part of a 20-project statewide round of infrastructure investments. The full breakdown is worth a look. Read the full story at the Henry Herald
A Conference Built for Henry County Men
Maclin Williams started noticing something while leading a local walking group. Women consistently showed up to invest in their health. Many men did not.
Then his father died of heart failure at 59. One month later, Williams' son was born.
"That's my big motivation," he says. "To give more dads more time with their kids."
Tomorrow, the first Men's Health to Men's Wealth Conference brings that mission to life with a full day of panels covering entrepreneurship, fatherhood, marriage, and health. Local leaders including McDonough Mayor Pro Tem Jamal Burt are on the panels. The full story behind it is worth reading before you decide whether to go.
