What's Happening With Mayor Jayden Williams
STOCKBRIDGE - The mayor's fighting back, and now it's in writing. During Sunday's town hall, Williams denied the claims in a 21-page investigative report and said city leaders are trying to push him out. His attorneys refiled a lawsuit Monday to get his spending privileges back while the investigation runs. The report accuses him of misusing a city vehicle and fuel card, including damage to the vehicle and multiple same-day fuel purchases. Williams says the report is too vague to even respond to properly. The city says it can't comment while the investigation's active, but expects it to wrap up in 30 to 45 days.
Why it matters:
This just went from "council took some privileges away" to a real legal fight with a written report and a lawsuit attached. Stockbridge's youngest mayor ever is now betting his whole term on the courts and the clock. 30 to 45 days isn't long. Whatever comes out of that report either clears him or ends his time in office early.
Henry County Has a New Pothole Truck. Your Roads Are About to Get Better

HENRY COUNTY — Henry County's Department of Transportation has a new piece of equipment designed to make pothole repairs faster and more efficient across the county. Last week, crews spent time training on the new truck before it hits the roads countywide — which is why you may have spotted what looked like a crowd gathered around a single pothole. No, they weren't all needed for one hole. They were learning the equipment together.
Why it matters: Better tools and better-trained crews mean fewer potholes sitting on your route for weeks waiting to be fixed. Got one to report? Use SeeClickFix and Henry County DOT will get eyes on it. Report a pothole at Henry County Government →
This Wasn't the Beach Day Anyone Planned
HENRY COUNTY - Most beach trips end with a sunburn. Jacorey High's ended with a shark bite. The 22-year-old Henry County resident was swimming at Daytona Beach on Saturday when a shark bit his left foot and reportedly kept coming back. High pushed his pregnant fiancée to safety before fighting the shark off himself and making it back to shore. Doctors say his recovery could take about three months.
Why it matters: A fellow Henry County resident is recovering in a Florida hospital. If you'd like to help Jacorey and his family during his recovery, a fundraiser has been created in his name. Henry County is rooting for him. Read the full story →
Measles Is at a 35-Year High. School Starts Next Week
The US has now recorded 2,318 confirmed measles cases in 2026—the highest number since 1991—with Georgia among the states reporting infections.
Health officials say nearly all of the recent cases involve people who were not vaccinated.
Why it matters: Before the backpacks come out and the first-day photos hit Facebook, it's worth taking one last look at your child's vaccination records. Henry County Schools opens August 3. Questions? Contact your pediatrician or the Henry County Health Department at (770) 358-4671.

We Promised You Automation. Here It Is. Set It Up Once and Forget It

HENRY COUNTY - Last week we introduced you to AI automations. Today we're showing you one you'll actually use.
Imagine opening your laptop each morning and finding your inbox already organized. Your important emails have been summarized. Your calendar has been reviewed. Your priorities are waiting before you've even finished your first cup of coffee.
You didn't do any of that.
AI did it while you slept.
Before we begin, one quick note: this feature requires a paid AI subscription. Claude Connectors are available on Claude's paid plans, and similar capabilities are available through ChatGPT and Google Gemini using their own connector or workspace integrations. Think of it as giving your AI assistant permission to securely access the apps you already use.
If you're using Claude, sign in at claude.ai, click your profile in the lower-left corner, choose Settings, then Connectors. From there you can connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and several other services in just a few minutes. If you'd rather watch someone else do it first, Anthropic has an excellent four-minute video that walks you through the entire process from start to finish.
🎥 Watch: "Getting Started with Connectors" from Anthropic → Getting Started with Connectors
Once you've connected your accounts, try asking Claude:
"Summarize my unread emails from the last 24 hours. Tell me what meetings I have on my calendar today, who I'm meeting with, and create a prioritized to-do list based on everything you found."
In seconds, Claude will scan your inbox, review today's calendar, and give you a personalized game plan for the day. It feels less like chatting with an AI and more like having your own executive assistant.
EyeQ Glossary
Connector: A secure connection that allows an AI assistant to access apps like Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive with your permission.
Automation: A task you set up once that runs automatically. Instead of checking your email and calendar every morning, AI can organize everything for you.
Zapier: If you use Outlook, Yahoo, or Apple Mail instead of Gmail, Zapier can connect hundreds of apps together so you can build similar automations.
