Story on the Square Has Been Saved. Here's What's Next

MCDONOUGH β Downtown McDonough exhaled this week when Story on the Square announced it has found the perfect buyer to keep the beloved bookstore and wine bar open under the same name. Original owners David and Stephanie confirmed that familiar faces will stay, the shelves will remain stocked, and the store will take a brief pause after July 19th for a smooth transition before a grand reopening.
Why it matters: Story on the Square isn't just a bookstore. It's where McDonough gathers, celebrates, and connects. Knowing it's in good hands heading into this new chapter is genuinely good news for downtown. Follow Story on the Square for updates β

McDonough Wants Your Help Designing Geranium Park
MCDONOUGH β The City of McDonough is asking residents to help shape the future of Geranium Park, a planned 20-acre passive park off Decatur Road near Judy Drive designed for walking, relaxation, wellness, and quiet outdoor recreation.
City leaders are seeking feedback on the preliminary concept plan, including whether a proposed pond should remain part of the project, since officials say public input will help determine if the feature is worth the additional cost and environmental permitting required.
Why it matters: It's a chance to help preserve an important piece of Henry County history while honoring those who came before us. Take the Geranium Park Survey
