Good morning, Henry County!
It's Monday, November 2. Today is Día de los Muertos, a day to honor the people we've lost. Tomorrow is Election Day, a day to look out for the people still here. Both matter.
Also in today's issue: a Hampton kid the whole country is watching, a free clinic headed to your library, and a pharmacy that still serves milkshakes.
Let's get into it. 🦅👁️

TODAY'S TOP PICK
This Friday: Free Healthcare. No Appointment. No Insurance Required.

HAMPTON: The Hands of Hope Mobile Clinic is pulling up to Fortson Public Library this Friday, November 6, from 10AM to 2PM, and it's completely free.
No appointment. No insurance. No cost. If you're an uninsured Henry County resident between the ages of 18 and 64, this clinic is for you.
Services include primary care health screenings, chronic disease care, hypertension and diabetes management, lab collection, prescription assistance, referrals, health education, and care navigation.
This isn't a one-time stop. Through February 2027, the mobile clinic is rotating through the county's five library branches on Fridays, so the location can change from week to week. We'll pass along the schedule as it's confirmed.
On Friday we told you open enrollment started for people who buy their own coverage. This clinic is for the neighbors who have none.
📍 Fortson Public Library, 61 McDonough Street, Hampton
🕐 Friday, November 6 | 10AM to 2PM
💵 Free | No appointment needed
Why it matters: Healthcare access is one of the biggest pressures on working families in Henry County. This clinic meets people where they are, literally. Pass this one along.

LOCAL PRIDE
A Hampton Kid Is the No. 1 Safety in America, and He's Staying Loyal

A Hampton High player on the field. Photo: Georgia Public Broadcasting
HAMPTON: Henry County has a name you'll be hearing for a long time. Kamarui Dorsey, a senior safety at Hampton High School, is the No. 1 safety in the 2027 class and the top player in Georgia according to Rivals. He's also a top 15 national recruit on both major rankings.
He committed to Texas A&M as a junior, choosing the Aggies over Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Florida State, LSU, and Nebraska. A year later, he hasn't wavered. In a recent AJC interview, Dorsey said it all comes down to trust. "For me, it wasn't about the bag," he said.
On the field this fall, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety has been a problem for opposing offenses, including four interceptions in one game against North Clayton, one of them a pick-six. The AJC named him to its Super 11.
Why it matters: A kid from Hampton turned down programs that recruit nationally every year, and he's keeping his word. Henry County is producing elite talent, and the country is paying attention.
BUSINESS
A Fast-Growing Logistics Company Just Opened a 215,000 Square Foot Facility in McDonough

Renewal Logistics' new McDonough facility
MCDONOUGH: Renewal Logistics just celebrated the grand opening of a 215,000 square foot fulfillment center in McDonough. The company expects about 125 full time workers there, plus part time and associate roles.
Renewal handles order fulfillment, returns, kitting, custom packaging, and refurbishment for fashion and consumer brands. It landed at No. 3820 on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
Co-Founder and CEO Courtney Folk is no stranger to recognition. EY named her a 2023 Southeast Entrepreneur of the Year, and she was also honored with a 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award.
Why it matters: New jobs, a nationally ranked company, and a woman-led business choosing McDonough. Watch this one.
COMMUNITY
Georgia REALTORS Brought Books, Beanies, and Blankets to Piedmont Henry Patients
HENRY COUNTY: Earlier this month, Georgia Association of REALTORS President Brianne Drake and fellow members stopped by Piedmont Henry Hospital with something patients in breast cancer treatment need most: comfort.
The visit was part of GAR's "3 B's to Kick C" drive, which collected books, beanies, and blankets for breast cancer treatment centers across Georgia. Deliveries landed on Pink Out Day, October 13, when REALTORS statewide wear pink to raise awareness.
Books could be new or gently used. Beanies and blankets had to be new with tags to protect patients from infection.
Why it matters: This is what community looks like. Neighbors showing up for patients in treatment with something they can hold. Piedmont Henry is lucky to have them.

A Milkshake With Your Medication? This Stockbridge Pharmacy Still Does It.

STOCKBRIDGE: Before the big chains took over every corner, your neighborhood pharmacy was also your lunch counter. Eagle's Landing Pharmacy is keeping that tradition alive, and it just made a statewide list of eight Georgia pharmacies still serving up old-fashioned soda fountain treats.
The independent pharmacy serves sodas, milkshakes, and fountain treats right alongside your prescriptions. Pick up your medication, then sit down for a handcrafted shake at the counter.
📍 1090 Eagles Landing Parkway, Stockbridge
🕐 Mon to Fri 9AM to 7PM | Sat 9AM to 2PM | Closed Sunday
Why it matters: Independent pharmacies are disappearing fast. This one has a soda fountain and a reason to visit in person. Go sit at the counter.
YOUR VOTE
Polls Open Tomorrow. Your Georgia Power Bill Is on the Ballot.

Two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission are on the ballot. The PSC is the five member board that sets Georgia Power rates, approves rate increases, and oversees energy contracts for the state.
District 3: Peter Hubbard (D, incumbent) vs. Fitz Johnson (R)
District 5: Shelia Edwards (D) vs. Josh Tolbert (R)
