  • Plus Eagle's Landing Christian is building something new for 2027 that every local school family should know about.

  • Also, today: EyeQ Tip #6 is here. You voted for it.

Let's get into it. 🦅👁️

Jonesboro Road Is Getting a Four-Lane Upgrade. Construction Starts This Summer

HENRY COUNTY — The Board of Commissioners approved a $30.8 million contract to widen Jonesboro Road from two lanes to four between I-75 and North Mt. Carmel Road, adding a center median, turn lanes, and 8-foot sidewalks on both sides. Summit Construction and Development LLC won the bid out of seven contractors and breaks ground this summer, funded by Henry County's T-SPLOST program. A Georgia Data Center Used 30 Million Gallons of Water and Got No Fine

GEORGIA - A data center campus about 25 miles from Henry County, in Fayetteville, secretly consumed nearly 30 million gallons of water over 15 months while nearby residents reported low water pressure, and Fayette County did not fine the company once. Henry County commissioners are already drafting their own data center ordinance that would require water usage reporting and set 1,000-foot setbacks from residential areas. An Olympic Gold Medalist Just Stopped By a Hampton Pre-K Class

HAMPTON — Georgia native and six-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor visited Mt. Carmel Elementary School last week to see her niece and nephew's class, bringing all three of her medals for the kids to hold. She's now the most decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympic history after winning gold at the Milano Cortina Games earlier this year. See the visit at 11Alive →

Use AI to Be A Better Writer. Just Don’t Believe Everything It Writes

HENRY COUNTY - You all voted, and this week you want to write better at work and in life. Let's do it.

Not using AI yet? ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are all free. Pick any one. They do essentially the same thing for everyday use.

EyeQ 💡 Tip #6: The Prompt Is Everything

AI isn't just a ghostwriter. It's a great editor and thinking partner that's available at midnight when your actual friends are asleep.

The secret: go in strong from the start. Every time you ask AI to revise something, those instructions start competing with each other. The writing drifts, and your original voice gets lost. One clear, detailed prompt beats ten rounds of small corrections every time.

Try this one:

"I need to write a professional email to my HOA. They've ignored my last two requests about a drainage issue in my backyard. Firm but respectful. I need a real response this time."

Yes, AI is fast, and it's done in seconds, but that doesn't mean it's right. If there's one important piece of advice I can give you when it comes to AI, it's this: read every word before you use it.

A Clayton County attorney used AI to write legal briefs and never checked them. The AI invented cases that didn't exist. Those fabricated citations reached the Georgia Supreme Court. She was suspended for six months. Read about it here

AI made her sound confident. It just wasn't telling the truth. That's called a hallucination.

Try this: Pick something you've been putting off writing. Give AI all the context upfront, get your draft, then edit until it sounds like you. The best writing sounds like you. AI helps you get there faster.

EyeQ Glossary: Terms You Now Know

Hallucination: When AI confidently generates something just wrong. Names, dates, quotes, legal citations, all fair game. Always verify before you use it.
