If you're in Southeast Henry County, the boil water advisory is still in effect this morning. Details are the first thing in today's issue.

The good news? The heat has backed off a bit this week compared to last. But cooling centers are open across the county through Friday just in case.

Early voting opened yesterday for the July 28 special election to fill Congressman David Scott's seat.

And this Friday downtown Stockbridge kicks off something worth putting on your calendar.

HENRY COUNTY - Parts of southeast Henry County are still under a boil water advisory issued early Sunday morning after pressure dropped at the Tussahaw Water Treatment Facility. Boil all water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing baby formula. Tap water is safe for bathing, showering, and laundry.

Affected areas include all areas generally south of Turner Church Road, Honey Creek Road, and Snapping Shoals Road. Several Locust Grove neighborhoods are also included: Grove Park, Copperfield, Berkley Lake, Bridle Creek, Brighton, Amber Ridge, Coulter Woods, and Bunn Farm.

HENRY COUNTY — Henry County has opened four cooling centers this week for anyone who needs relief from the heat. HENRY COUNTY — The special election to fill the late Congressman David Scott's seat is July 28 and early voting has started. Marcye Scott, David Scott's daughter, is among the candidates running to continue her father's legacy, including nearly $40 million in federal funding he requested for the district. HENRY COUNTY — I-75 in McDonough ranked as the 12th-worst freight bottleneck in America in 2024, and Henry County commuters feel it every single day. Georgia DOT has committed $548 million to expand I-75 in Henry County with new express lanes in both directions, though construction isn't expected to start until 2029.
