Young Artists Invited to Share Their Creativity in the Congressional Art Competition
HENRY COUNTY — Calling all young creatives. The annual Congressional Art Competition is now open, giving local high school students a chance to turn their creativity into national recognition. This year’s theme, Georgia on My Mind, encourages students to create artwork inspired by the places, culture, and stories that make the state special. The winning artwork may be displayed in the U.S. Capitol, where millions of visitors view the exhibit each year.
The competition is open to grades 9 through 12 and accepts original two-dimensional artwork, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and computer generated art. Students should submit a clear digital image taken in natural light along with a Student Information and Release Form.
Important note: Submission deadlines vary by congressional district. Some districts have an earlier February 20 deadline, while students in Georgia’s 10th District must submit by March 16, 2026. Families are encouraged to confirm their district before sending artwork.
