You know that stack of papers that came with your house? Or that letter from your HOA that took three reads and still didn't make sense? What about the deed restrictions that tell you what colors you can paint your fence or whether you can park a trailer in your driveway?
Most of us just sign, file, and hope for the best. Not anymore.
Here's the trick: before you paste anything into AI, give it a role. Tell it who to be before you ask your question. That one move changes everything about the answer you get back.
Try this:
"Act as a plain-English translator for homeowners. I'm going to paste a section of my HOA agreement. Break it down in simple terms and flag anything I should pay close attention to."
Then paste the confusing section right below it.
You can do the same thing with deed restrictions, insurance policy language, contractor agreements, or anything else that reads like it was written by lawyers for other lawyers.
The AI won't just summarize it. It'll tell you what it actually means for your daily life, and what you can and can't do. What to watch out for. What questions to ask before you sign.
Try This Week: Pull out one document you've been avoiding. Could be an HOA letter, a warranty, a contractor estimate, anything with language that made your eyes glaze over. Paste a section into your AI tool and start with: "Act as a plain-English translator and explain this to me as I've never read a legal document in my life."
