HAMPTON — Hampton Police and Hampton Main Street are teaming up for one of the most fun free family events of the summer. COPS Day- Come Out and Play Day. Brings food, bounce houses, face painting, cornhole, giveaways, police vehicle displays, and a skateboard and roller skate showcase to McBrayer Park. It's a great chance to meet your local officers in a relaxed setting and let the kids run wild for a few hours.

The Stockbridge Mayor Hearing Is Tomorrow. Here's Where Things Stand
STOCKBRIDGE — After weeks of delays, legal battles, and a letter to the governor, the public hearing into Mayor Jayden Williams is finally happening tomorrow, Saturday, August 22, at 5 p.m. at Stockbridge City Hall. The independent investigator will present findings and evidence to the city council and the public, including financial transactions and other allegations. The council will then deliberate on how to proceed, which could include removal from office.
Five Georgia legislators have also written directly to Governor Kemp asking for a separate state investigation. The GBI says it is aware but hasn't been asked to investigate specific allegations yet.

McDonough Just Audited Its Own Flock Cameras. Here's What They Found
McDonough Police just audited every single Flock camera query their officers made this year.
MCDONOUGH — After a wave of Flock camera misuse scandals swept Georgia this summer, including the firing and criminal charging of a Henry County Police Department officer last month, McDonough Police Chief Ken Noble decided not to wait for a problem. He ordered an audit covering January through July 2026, and the results are in. All 32 Flock inquiries made by McDonough officers were for legitimate law enforcement purposes. Zero discrepancies. Going forward, the department will review internal user activity weekly and provide written quarterly reports to the chief.
"We have tightened our department policies regarding the use of LPR technology and established a formal process for reviewing and reporting internal Flock LPR usage by all sworn officers," Chief Noble said.
Why it matters: Georgia has become the epicenter of Flock camera abuse nationally, with officers fired and arrested in Albany, Savannah, DeKalb, Fayetteville, and Henry County. Drone delivery is already happening in Henry County.

Drones are already delivering food and groceries across the county, and Amazon is about to join the party. And it's about to get busier up there. Amazon is preparing to launch Prime Air drone delivery from a Stone Mountain facility later this year. The Golden Olympics Are Coming to Henry County. Seriously
Did you know Henry County is hosting a statewide Olympic competition this September? Adults 50 and older can still register to compete.
HENRY COUNTY — This September, Henry County becomes an Olympic host. Well, almost. The Georgia Golden Olympics, a statewide athletic competition for adults 50 and older, comes to Clayton and Henry counties September 22 through 26, with several events happening right here.
Volleyball takes over North Mt. Carmel Recreation Center in Hampton. Disc golf heads to J.P. Moseley Park in Stockbridge. Bowlers compete at Pin Strikes on Mt. Zion Road, while softball heads to Gerald Matthews Sports Complex in Hampton.
And these aren't just recreational games. The Georgia Golden Olympics is affiliated with the National Senior Games Association and serves as a qualifying competition for the National Senior Games.
Registration is currently open with a late fee and closes September 1. Volunteer registration is also open through September 1.
Why it matters: Hosting a statewide competition brings athletes and their families into Henry County, putting our parks, recreation facilities, and community on display while giving local residents a chance to see some seriously competitive athletes prove that age doesn't have much to do with staying in the game.
